Exhibition of Paintings by Thomas Grundmann. Full Building Installation.

Hinterraum Berlin is pleased to present the paintings of Thomas Grundmann. “F.U.C.K.M.E.Y.O.U.R.S.E.L.F.!”, an exhibition of great breadth, is a total takeover from Thomas. These works coat the entirety of Hinterraum’s nearly 1000m2. Gripping visitors’ gaze at every turn, from the stairwell all the way up to the halls of Berlin’s so-called “edge of society” venue; these paintings and their very installation act as a outward orgy of self. Footnotes of the soul, Thomas paints in a pop disintegration of self confrontations. Every painting is a self portrait; twisting and contorting carnival mirrors of self perception. This exhibition is as much a diaristic distillation of Thomas Grundmann as it is an experience of self-exposure for all who make themselves available to see through the aggressive vulnerability.

Opening night featuring special performance from Teresa Riemann. A mesmerizing combination of convulsive percussion and trembling noise walls; the almost-exploding landscapes are held together by fragmented voice, spontaneously reciting scraps of the living memory of humankind.
